That is what happened to Kirt.  Yet, even after losing everything, he still fought the idea of recovery. “I didn’t want to give it up. I didn’t want to come to Guiding Light.”

At the same time, Kirt felt like he had a “sick, black heart” and he knew he wanted to find God again.  He made that important phone call to our Intake Manger, Jeff, and was accepted on a probationary period into the Guiding Light Recovery program.  That was just a few months ago.  Today Kirt feels that there is a purpose in his life.  “This program has been a blessing.”
