Celebrating the Launch of the Guiding Light Heritage Society

On November 19 we celebrated a meaningful new chapter for Guiding Light as we introduced our Heritage Society. The Heritage Society recognizes individuals who have pledged a gift to Guiding Light in their estate plans or wills. These long term commitments are powerful expressions of commitment to Guiding Light’s mission, and they help ensure that men and women struggling with substance abuse will be able to pursue recovery with no cost-barrier for decades to come.

The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of our new wall honoring Heritage Society members. This display is a visible tribute to the compassion and foresight of those who have chosen to invest in long-term transformation. Each name represents a commitment to helping people get back to work, back to family As guests and participants gathered around the wall, the room was filled with gratitude for the legacy these individuals are building.

The event marked an important milestone for our community. Planned gifts strengthen the foundation of Guiding Light and allow us to offer programs at no-cost to our participants. When someone with substance abuse is seeking treatment, insurance approvals can be a challenging obstacle. At Guiding Light, the only cost is commitment to live a new way. When someone chooses to include Guiding Light in their will, they are making a statement about the future they believe in and the lives they hope to touch long after they are gone.

Following the unveiling, we shared lunch together in a spirit of fellowship. This time of conversation and connection reflected the heart of Guiding Light. Staff, participants, board members, and supporters broke bread together and celebrated the shared mission that brings us together. Moments like these remind us that transformation does not happen in isolation. It happens in communities around a table.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and to those who have already joined the Heritage Society. Your generosity strengthens our mission and ensures that Guiding Light can continue providing life-changing programs for years to come. The legacy you are creating will support men and women seeking a new way forward long into the future.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Heritage Society or want to learn more about planned giving options, our Planned Giving Officer, Melissa Janes, is available to talk.
