We don’t give up on people at Guiding Light. And we have been blessed, time and again, by people not giving up on us – and not giving up on themselves. Here’s an example:
Dexter was one of the first names added on our Year of Sobriety wall. After finding success in our recovery program, he moved back home to Mississippi.
Recently, on the very anniversary of the milestone that changed his life, Dexter traveled back to Grand Rapids and Guiding Light to receive his coin commemorating eight years of sobriety.
I hope you are as proud of his accomplishment and determination as he is.
We have surpassed 100 names to the Year of Sobriety wall since Dexter first saw his plaque added. With each one, we thank God for the opportunity to restore a life and to welcome them back to the hope of a relationship with Jesus.
