Is a loved one struggling with substances?
This is so hard because we can’t make anyone else change. One resource we highly recommend is Al-Anon, which is specifically for family members or friends of individuals dealing with addiction. This is a resource and a community for YOU, where you can get support, encouragement, challenge, and deep community. Find times and locations of Al-Anon around you below.
Lanturn
A non-profit partner of Guiding Light who comes in for a monthly family meeting. Contact Lanturn to learn about the curriculum and dates & times. This is held at Guiding Light and is for family members or spouses of those struggling with current or past addiction.
FAN (Face Addiction Now)
A non-profit organization guiding individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use disorder by coordinating care and reducing stigma, through a variety of programs and resources, at no cost, fostering a path towards healing and recovery. Through free programs, educational initiatives and resources, FAN provides care that creates pathways to recovery and prevention.
Al-Anon
Al-Anon is a mutual support group for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.
Gilda’s Club
Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids is a vibrant, free, emotional health support community of children, adults, families, and friends on any kind of cancer journey or those grieving a death due to any cause.
