ADDICTION REHAB & RECOVERY

Holistic. Relational. Long Term.

Did we mention no cost?

Yes, due to the generosity of this faithful community, Guiding Light’s innovative and successful drug and alcohol rehab program is available to men struggling with addiction, hopelessness, homelessness, and relationships at NO COST to participants.

Our vision is to awaken the man with addictions to the possibility of becoming physically, emotionally, and spiritually transformed. Our goal for men is lifelong recovery and a new way of being in relationship with the world.

Guiding Light Recovery is an intensive addiction rehab program designed to give men structure and the opportunity to engage in change. Our four-to-six-month inpatient rehab program combines life coaching, therapy, support groups, spiritual direction, family support, community, and resources to equip men to stay sober and live life in a new way.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

What are the intake parameters of Guiding Light’s drug and alcohol inpatient rehab program?

  • Your blood alcohol content must be zero, and you cannot test positive for opiates or benzodiazepines. Any questions, please call us.
  • You must be physically able to work and exercise. This means anyone receiving SSI or SSD is not a good fit for this program.
  • While having a criminal record (misdemeanors and/or felonies) has little impact on program eligibility, individuals with violent felonies committed in the last 3 years will not be accepted.
  • It is preferrable that legal issues are fully resolved before entering rehab, but we are willing to discuss details of pending court cases/legal issues on a case-by-case basis.

Program Overview

Guiding Light’s residential inpatient rehab experience creates a dynamic culture of community, peer support, and accountability with programming in the following four areas:

  • Spiritual engagement
  • Psycho-social education & practice
  • Coaching & therapy
  • Physical wellness

We strongly encourage men that come into the program to think of themselves as taking part in a long-term commitment to their sobriety and an entirely different way of being. This starts with something as simple as a commitment to make your bed each morning.

Due to the generosity of those who support Guiding Light, the only cost is a commitment to change. All your needs are met while in our drug and alcohol rehab program.

There is nothing holding you back from taking this step into the unknown and seeing what is possible for your life living sober, free, and healthy.

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord, ‘because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.’

Iron House

Iron House is a community of renovated 2-bedroom apartments in Kentwood. As part of Guiding Light’s values, we are committed to clean, well-maintained environments at all our apartment complexes. These apartments are quality, affordable housing. They are an option for recovery clients to move into after completing addiction rehab programming up through month 6 or 7 at Guiding Light’s downtown facility. Two clients share a fully equipped apartment, each with their own room.

Men work full-time, pay a modest rent, participate in support groups and community meetings, and help out with yard work and property maintenance. On average, men live at Iron House for a little over a year (a current average of 377.4 days to be exact) and many stay for 2- 3 years. It’s a tight-knit community that offers encouragement, support, and accountability. It’s the next step in the process of life-long recovery and new way of being in relationship with the world.
