Are you ready to wake up to a new way of life?
Women's residential Recovery
Holistic. Empowering. Supportive.
Did we mention no cost?
Yes, due to the generosity of this faithful community, Guiding Light’s innovative and successful residential recovery program is now available to women struggling with addiction, hopelessness, homelessness, and relationships at NO COST to participants.
Kendra’s House is the name of our beautiful residence where participants live, and a house on Aquinas’ campus is the location where our day-to-day programming takes place.
Our vision is to awaken the woman with addictions to the possibility of becoming successful, independent, and spiritually transformed. Our goal for women is lifelong recovery and a new way of being in relationship with the world.
Guiding Light’s Women’s Recovery is an intensive residential recovery program designed specifically for women.
Addressing mind, body, and spirit, this program is trauma-informed, highly relational, and comprehensive.
Our four-to-six-month inpatient residential recovery program combines life coaching, therapy, support groups, spiritual direction, family support, community, and resources to equip women to stay sober and live life in a new way where they are awake, in community, empowered, and hard at work.
Program Requirements
What are the intake parameters of Guiding Light's drug and alcohol inpatient rehab program?
- Your blood alcohol content must be zero, and you cannot test positive for opiates or benzodiazepines. Any questions, please call us.
- You must be physically able to work and exercise. This means anyone receiving SSI or SSD is not a good fit for this program.
- While having a criminal record (misdemeanors and/or felonies) has little impact on program eligibility, individuals with violent felonies committed in the last 3 years will not be accepted.
- It is preferable that legal issues are fully resolved before entering rehab, but we are willing to discuss details of pending court cases/legal issues on a case-by-case basis.

Program Overview
Guiding Light’s residential recovery program experience creates a dynamic culture of community, peer support, safe space, and accountability with programming in the following four areas:
- Spiritual engagement
- Psycho-social education & practice
- Coaching & therapy
- Physical wellness
We strongly encourage women that come into the program to think of themselves as taking part in a long-term commitment to their recovery and an entirely different way of being. This starts with something as simple as a commitment to make your bed each morning.
Due to the generosity of those who support Guiding Light, the only cost is a commitment to change. All your needs are met while in our residential recovery program.
There is nothing holding you back from taking this step into the unknown and seeing what is possible for your life living sober, free, and healthy.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

KENDRA'S HOUSE
Previously the parsonage of Eastern CRC, this home was moved to it’s currently location and resettled on top of a new foundation.
Learning about Guiding Light’s focus on meeting a deep need for women’s recovery programming that was not short-term, insurance-based, or piecemeal, a new Guiding Light friend named Melody offered to faciliate the purchase of this home in memory of her niece, Kendra. Kendra passed away in January of 2023 of alcoholism, and her family’s deep desire was that her memory lived on in a way that offered other women the opportunity for new life free from addiction.
At the dedication ceremony of Kendra’s House in June 2024, Kendra’s daughter, Kristen, and mother, Marcia, shared these words: “Kendra fought hard against alcoholism, but alcoholism is not who she was. She had a very caring nature about her, and her laughter will echo in our hearts forever…So today we stand united, offering our love and support to those who walk the arduous path towards healing. We know we will see Kendra again, and until we do, we pray her memory will live on through this house in the lives of the women that Guiding Light will help. To God be the glory.”
FOREVER LOVED
Born on June 20, 1968, Kendra was the eldest child of Rickey and Marcia Draft, eventually taking on the role of big sister to her brother Kelly. Her slender frame, and tall stature earned her the nickname “Worm,” that stayed with her throughout her lifetime. Kendra found fulfillment in motherhood, raising two beautiful blonde daughters, Kristen and Erika, alongside her devoted husband Tony. She cherished her role as grandmother to Weston and Nora, whom she adored. Beyond her immediate family, Kendra held roles as cousin, aunt, niece, granddaughter, sister-in-law, and friend to countless individuals.
Kendra’s joyous spirit thrived in the company of others. Her infectious smile and laughter lit up any room she entered. Gardening brought her solace, cultivating a vibrant array of flowers in her beautiful yard. She found joy in horseback riding with friends, navigating the waters with her husband on boating excursions, and lakeside camping adventures. Her backyard pool became a hub of activity, where children and their friends spent countless afternoons swimming under her watchful eye. Music was a constant presence in Kendra’s home, and she will forever be remembered for her love of singing and dancing to her favorite songs.
Kendra fought hard against the disease of alcoholism. But alcoholism is not who Kendra was. Kendra will forever be missed by the many people that loved her. June 20, 1968 – Jan 20, 2023
Ruth & Esther's House
Ruth’s and Esther’s House (REH) is a community of sober living homes. As part of Guiding Light’s values, we are committed to clean, well-maintained environments at all our homes. These houses are quality, affordable housing. They are an option for recovery clients to move into after completing programming at Guiding Light.
Women work full-time, pay a modest rent, participate in support groups and community meetings, and help out with yard work and property maintenance. It’s a tight-knit community that offers encouragement, support, and accountability. It’s the next step in the process of life-long recovery and new way of being in relationship with the world.
