As we approach Thanksgiving, I’d like to share a timely message we received recently at Guiding Light.
Addison spent more than a third of his 37 years behind bars, the result of drug use since age 13. When he left prison, he still wasn’t free.
Parris got to the point where “enough was enough” and he reached out for help at Guiding Light.
We often try to avoid the things that make us feel uncomfortable: topics, ideas, or actions that might take us to a scary and vulnerable place, such as DEATH.
We look for ways to celebrate the movement and transformation of the men who are living a new way in this world.
Eileen Chamberlain is a licensed Master Social Worker and believes in Guiding Light’s mission to provide free substance abuse treatment for all in our community that need it.
On January 17th 2023, 8 men of the Guiding Light Recovery program celebrated a year of continuous sobriety.
This Christmas we were able to feed over 250 men, women, and children of the Heartside community a Christmas dinner.
