Our goal for men is lifelong recovery and a new way of being in relationship with the world.
Iron House is our own sober-living apartment – three buildings all next to each other in a safe and family-oriented neighborhood in Kentwood and one building located closer to downtown Grand Rapids. They’re reserved exclusively for the men who have gone through Guiding Light’s Recovery or Back to Work programs.
The Residents all have jobs. They buy their own food, pay their own bills and are engaging with each other regularly. They look after and support each other. They’re practicing community in the best way they can.
Finished the Foundations phase of Recovery Program.
Be working full time.
Stay current on rent.
Stay clean and sober.
Willingness to continue on this journey.
Hear Their Stories
For the men at Guiding Light the first step toward starting a new life chapter is learning from the stories that brought them here. From their darkest nights to their first new dawn of many, these men leave nothing out of their gripping testimonials. You see God’s light beginning to work within them.
